Roberta di Camerino – Italian Women’s Winter Fashion 2007

It should be obvious that I do not like the designers who put together outfits of plastic wrap, bottle caps or various pieces of construction material to make a statement. Fashion is personal. It must be wearable and the clothes you decide to wear should show off your best attributes while minimizing those you are not fond of. On the streets of Milan you can see just about everything but the normal folks, those of us who go to work, eat out occasionally and stroll the city define what is wearable and what is not. The 2007 Women’s Winter Fashion is generally very wearable and functional but some designers seem to come out on top. Roberta di Camerino is one of those designers.
Roberta di Camerino has three primary targets in her line. A very neat and clean, almost uniform, look combining leather and tight knits with a single burst of color either in a band belt or border lining. Just below the knee boots complete the outfit. Above the knee and mid thigh lengths on the leather skirts and turtleneck “Filo Scozzese” knits for tops. The basic color scheme is a darker pastel that is very natural while the tricolor belts or borders are vibrant yellows, reds and blues.
The second line is for the under 20 crowd. Soft textures, light colors, and larger knotted knits. Suede skirts and jackets with matching spiked boots are the leather portion of this group. The look is very young and prissy. It says, “I am young and cute!”
For the businesswoman, whether she be a twenty something or a forty something woman the clean lines and light colors of the pantsuit and tailleur accentuate femininity while maintaining a serious business demeanor. The button-down-the-front skirts add a playful mischievousness to an otherwise professional look. The result is an ambiguous and intriguing woman, powerful yet playful.
All in all this is a great line to have in the arsenal. It is versatile and can easily be adapted to the most extreme occasions. The quality of the leather and cloths can quickly go from a day in the office to a night dancing Salsa. Do not forget the boots, whether part of the skirt top combination or worn with a hot skirt these spiked boots will attract even the most discerning eye.

ChickyBabe I do not know why that would be. I intentionally reduce the definition of the fotos because blogger sometimes has problems but they are simple jpg. I have tried in both Firefox and IE.
Please let me know if it does not straighten itself out today.

Hmm the outfits look quite lovely. Well aside from France, Italy sizzles in fashion

Charles I am a bit biased. Italian and French are close cousins with the strongest of Rivalry. Shall I dare to say that I will always prefer the Italian designers.

Natalie You have such excellent sense of style, perhaps your friends will see this and decide to use this as a guide for Christmas Gifts and stay away from the costume jewelry!

ChickyBabe I am not sure what is going on. I am still on the old blogger platform and while they seem to have changed the photo server a couple of days ago everything is the same.
I noticed that when I look at the new blogger blogs I now get a message indicating that the server is different and I have to ok the download. Perhaps they have moved my photos to the new system in preparation for the big move of all the blogs.
