18 Days in Italy – Part 1 of 5 - Intro

Last night my wife and I had the opportunity to visit an open house for a property in McKinney hosted by Hoffman International Properties http://www.magnificentproperties.com .

You see I was able to find a bit of Italy even here in Dallas. The house, Villa Nostro Destino, is built on about 3 acres with a landscaped park and stocked fishing pond. We have been looking for several years and this is one of the most unique designs we have seen. The owners incorporated into the home various bits and pieces of things they had found in Italy including a reproduction of a Tiepolo affresco in a domed ceiling, several painted glass windows, huge heavy doors leading into the wine cellar, and perfect placement of old world furniture.

Most importantly we met some really great people, one of whom is leaving for Italy next week so, I thought I would put together the itinerary that I would follow given her time frame and the places she wants to visit. I will not go into detail on the hotels, restaurants and sites other than to try to provide some web links to facilitate her planning. The itinerary will be broken into 5 parts of which this is the first.

Her trip will be about 18 days visiting Rome, Florence, Venice and Cinque Terre. Le Cinque Terre is often overlooked by many visiting Italy yet the Costa Azzura is one of the favorite destinations for Northern Italians.
